NetEnt To Go Live In Pennsylvania
Hollywood Casino was the first to go live online, followed by Parx Casino then SugarHouse. Although only a soft launch, the casinos are at least finally online, and in their last round of BETA testing.
NetEnt was allocated an interactive gaming manufacturers conditional license earlier in the year. It joins other big names such as IGT, Scientific Games, SBTech and PokerStars all set to introduce their games to a brand new audience. It also has the pleasure of being one of a few developers offering their portfolios from the market's inception.
NetEnt Americas CEO Erik Nyman shared his pleasure that the Pennsylvania market has finally opened. He added that, as one of the first suppliers to offer its games right from the start, he is sure NetEnt’s award-winning titles will be appreciated by players. He also stressed that they have signed a number of agreements with operators in the second-largest state to regulate online casinos, and are looking forward to future growth.
A Slow Q2 For NetEnt
As with many online gaming companies, NetEnt reported a revenue decline of 4.1 for its second quarter. Like most companies, it was negatively affected by weakness in the Nordic markets, specifically Sweden. Issues with the new Swedish regulations that came into effect at the start of the year have seen numerous operators cite it as the reason for revenue declines.
Fewer players and a lower spend per player since the start of the year impacted NetEnt Sweden badly. However, its other jurisdictions reported growth of 1.7%. Strong performances in Eastern Europe, Portugal, New Jersey, and Spain have been credited for the growth.
A Trusted Brand
NetEnt has been an industry leader and pioneer for almost two decades. The company creates solutions for the online casino market and leads the way in game development technology. Its platform handles more than 40 billion game transaction per year, employs over 1000 people and has 200 games in its portfolio.
High profile titles include Gonzo’s Quest, Halloween Jack, Jumanji, Starburst, Vikings, and a full suite of music inspired slots.
The brand has several new releases, including the highly anticipated Ozzy Osbourne slot scheduled for the coming months, and players in Pennsylvania will be able to get in on the action.
